About The Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose

The Children’s Discovery Museum offers several educational programs for kids of a wide range of ages. A couple of these programs include: Discovery Youth, BioSITE, and Summer of Service. Each of these programs involves participation in hands-on science experiments, and are designed to educate children on the effects of pollution on the environment. The Summer of Service program is also a summertime community service opportunity for kids between the grades of 7 and 10 who want to get more involved with the community.

The Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Exhibits like the Art Gallery and the Art Loft are made to allow children to design their own artwork while discovering how others express themselves through artwork. The Bubble Exhibit allows children to blow bubbles of many shapes and size while learning about the properties of the bubbles. Exhibits like the Rainbow Market demonstrate the importance of eating from the “rainbow”, the five food groups. This is done by allowing the kids to prepare “meals” using toys in the market.
